About Me

My name is Katie Mae MacKenzie (aka Katie Mack) I am an American artist and writer.

I started this blog when I was a full time, traveling tattoo artist. This was originally intended to be a space where I could explore what it means to be a tattooer, through my personal experience of that journey. Sometimes my blog involves the characters I meet along the way, my own inner conflict, and sometimes it's about the unique details about the places I visit, from my personal perspective.  It's like a more formal journal. More personal than I'd like it to be, but whatever, it is what it is. 

Now I've switched career tracks and I am working as a full-time writer and artist, the blog entries will reflect these changes, to include more fictional short stories, and my personal experience navigating the world of publishing my books and creating art.

The MacKademic Ink shop (once it's finally up and running) will include my original artwork, prints, and apparel for sale.
