My name is Katie Mack I am an American artist from Central Connecticut.
I've been an artist since I can remember.
In 2013 I started my tattoo apprenticeship, and since graduating, going full time, tattooing has taken me all over the US, from Honolulu, to San Fransisco, Chicago, New York City, to West Palm Beach... so on, and so on. I love my life, and know that I am completely blessed to live my passion and let it take me anywhere I want to go.
I originally created this website in the form of a travel blog, and a professional blog where I could explore not only what it means to me to be a tattoo artist, but also where my journey has taken me. Sometimes it involves the characters I meet along the way, sometimes it's the details I notice about a place/people/culture, sometimes it's about breaking down, and expanding and letting life take you to become more than you envisioned for yourself.
As time has gone on, I started spreading more into the world of fine art, painting on canvases for art galleries, making handmade clothing items, designing T-shirts and home goods. This is where I'm at currently on this path, and it's an exciting season of life to say the least - because what I truly love, even more than the meditative act of creation, I truly love people, and culture, and learning (I actually have my bachelors degreee in History, Society and Culture, with a minor in Philosophy - makes sense right?).
Creating this blog and selling my art, is a way for me to spread that joy, that same passion I have for the world, giving it back to the people and places who inspire me. To see someone connect with a painting I made, to see someone love a shirt that I designed, or proudly wear a tattoo I gave them, that indescribable feeling that makes a person feel even more like themselves, is a gift as much to me as it is to them. I am so incredibly honored to be part of your lives in this way, and so grateful that you all support me enough so I can keep doing what I do, it means everything to me. Thank you so much.
In the future I hope to add published author to this career mosaic I've been compiling, I have a fictional novel that's been on the back burner for many years and is slowly coming to a close. I'm so excited to see what comes of that.
If you have any questions for me, please don't hesitate to contact me, I am not always the best at responding to emails, but you can always message me on Instagram and I will get it there.
Let me know of a new blog post you'd like to see, ideas for paintings, tattoo appointments, what you had for breakfast this morning, I'm all ears.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thank you for visiting the site.
